Intersection possibilities at 34th and 40th streets

We are considering two specific intersection possibilities at 40th and 34th streets: pedestrian flashing beacons and intersection signals.

A pedestrian flashing beacon is a signal that is activated by a pedestrian that wants to cross the street. The lights flash to attract the attention of drivers and provide a break in traffic to cross.

A traditional intersection is a crossing with stoplights. Light is green, yellow, or red. Vehicles utilize the traffic light, while pedestrians use a separate walk signal and countdown.
