Hi! I’ve been working towards zero-waste and plastic free for a while now and still working on it! Ha but one of the biggest barriers for me is living in an apartment building that does not do composting. It would be great if there were solutions or incentives for multi-unit housing shared with developers or landlords to encourage this.

There are drop spots for composting that might be convenient to the routes you take to work or other frequented spots. Check online.

Hi Anne! That's great to hear you are working towards zero waste and plastic free; we're excited to have you join and support us in this movement! We actually do currently offer a few incentives for organics at multifamily properties. As part of our multifamily recycling program we offer grants to incentivize properties to implement organics recycling. A few things we offer include individual in unit small compost bins and bags and the opportunity for the County to cover part of organics hauling service. For more information check out our website (under grants, resources, and assistance): https://www.hennepin.us/apartmentrecycling(External link). I recommend sharing this with your property manager!
