Steel and timber framing underway at Southdale Library

With the underground parking slab complete and parking ramp enclosure nearing completion, work at Southdale Library is now rising above ground. Steel and timber framing is taking shape, bringing the structure to life. Crews are currently building from the ground up to roof level in the first bay of the above-ground portion of the project.

Upcoming work

  • Envelope and structure mock-up underway
  • Commissioned art and early learning play elements selection/design process in progress
  • Major structural work; steel and timber framing continues
  • Concrete work continues
  • Furniture design, selection, and procurement will be starting mid-summer 2026
