Gleason Lake Road preliminary design

A section of road showing two driving lanes, a shared use path on the right, and sidewalk on the left.The preliminary design for Gleason Lake Road includes roadway, trail, sidewalk and drainage improvements. These improvements include:

  • Two narrower travel lanes to help slow traffic and improve safety
  • Rebuilding the existing 10-foot wide trail smoother and easier to use
  • Add a new 6-foot sidewalk on the south side between Gleahaven Road to Townes Road
  • Three raised medians to make it easier and safer for people to cross the street
  • 6-foot wide boulevards (where space allows) on both sides of the roadway
  • Protection of healthy, high-quality trees where possible
  • Keeping overhead power lines in place, with some poles moved as needed
